Nature of Position

Rivercity Inclusion Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to advocate and provide services for people with developmental needs, and their families, who live in the Campbell River area. Our Dogwood Place Child & Youth Development Centre offers a family-centered approach to children and youth who need extra support.

The part time Therapy Assistant provides support to the Speech and Language team. This includes providing direct and indirect client services under the direction of a speech-language pathologist (SLP), in accordance with the goals/objectives/strategies identified by the assigning SLP. Other duties include creation and maintenance of program materials, contributing to the intake process for the early intervention team, support with scheduling SLP appointments and other program-specific administrative tasks, and other related duties as assigned by the SLP supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized Speech Language Pathologist – Assistant Diploma program
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills

  • Minimum two years’ experience working with children under the supervision of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist
