Nature of Position

Rivercity Inclusion Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to advocate and provide services for people with developmental needs, and their families, who live in the Campbell River area. Our Dogwood Place Child & Youth Development Centre offers a family-centered approach to children and youth who need extra support.

The part time therapy assistant provides support to the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. This includes direct and indirect treatment activities and non-client specific activities as assigned and supervised by an Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist.  Other duties include: creation and maintenance of program materials, contributing to the intake process for the early intervention team, support with scheduling OT/PT appointments and other program-specific administrative tasks, and other related duties as assigned by the OT/PT supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized Therapist Assistant Diploma program or similar program related to child care
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills

  • Minimum two years’ experience working with children under the supervision of a certified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist or related professional
