Nature of Position

Rivercity Inclusion Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to advocate for services and/or provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, who live in the Campbell River area. We have been successfully doing so for over 60 years as one of the largest employers in the area, and one of the largest community living organizations on Vancouver Island.

We are currently looking for a Program Manager to oversee the operations of staffed living, as well as other programs and services. The role provides leadership and direction to the supervisors and employees under the portfolio of assigned programs and ensures that programs and services are provided in alignment with the society’s Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will possess leadership experience and the ability to function under pressure while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines; including effectively coordinating some emergency situations, or those which may be difficult and time sensitive.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Post-secondary degree in social work, human resources, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years’ recent management experience in the human services field, including direct supervisor experience
  • Previous direct program delivery experience in the community support services sector
  • Act as a role model for staff by contributing to a positive and respectful attitude to clients and colleagues.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong practical experience in social service projects and/or program management including planning and delivery considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively with all stakeholders involved in program management
  • Proven leadership abilities, including conflict resolution and team building skills.
  • Advanced software experience using Microsoft Office Suite and large ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and Family Development and Community Living BC (CLBC) preferred.
  • Well-developed organizational skills, time management skills and general management skills.

Rate of Pay

$65,000.00 per year
