Requirements

Graduation from an approved Health Aide program, or equivalent. Current Registration with BC Care Aide registry. Minimum of one year’s experience as a Care Aide working in community, assisted living, or long term care.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills

Under the supervision of the licensed practical nurse or designate, the Care Aide assists the residents in activities of daily living to meet physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs and maintain optimal functioning while promoting residents’ autonomy and choice. The role also provides various housekeeping duties, meal planning and preparation, and the promotion of a safe and healthy working environment.
